The Whirligig Music Project – Movement 1

The Listening Garden and The Whirligig Music Project are creations of artist, percussionist, and improviser Shannon Morrow. Sept 28 – October 5 Durham Central Park 534 Foster St. Downtown Durham This is an excerpt of the first movement from the performance and opening of the Listening Garden Sunday, September 28. Featured musicians engaged with the whirligig installation by LISTENING in the environment, and responding with sound when the wind blows their assigned spinners. The project was partially funded by The Durham Arts Council with funding from the state of North Carolina and the National Endowment for the Arts, which believes that a great nation deserves great art.     I would rather listen to the wind rustling the leaves on the trees with perhaps a wind chime in the distance, To me this is utter rubbish.
